Illawarra International Judo Club Inc. (IIJC) is an active judo club with emphasis on participation and fun, based at our purpose-built dojo in Kembla Grange, NSW. We run classes tailored to the full range of judoka from beginners to advanced.
While our club has a proud competitive tradition, we also welcome players who simply want to learn and enjoy judo for fitness, discipline, and fun — there is a place for everyone here. We are a not-for-profit club: everything we collect is directed back into the club to promote strong, respectful, and confident members who can enjoy judo for a lifetime.
The club has a long and proud history dating back to the 1960s. The International Judo Centre was officially opened on the 4th of April 1998 and features 150 tatami laid on a sprung floor — a purpose-built facility dedicated to the development of judo in the Illawarra region.
The International Judo Centre is a purpose-built dojo featuring 150 tatami on a sprung floor, providing a safe and professional training environment for judoka of all levels.

Our coaching team consists of many Dan grades, all with past or current high-level national and international competition experience as athletes and coaches. There are also many high-grade members who assist with coaching, especially in the junior classes.
A point of pride for the club is that many of our current coaches have been members since childhood — a testament to judo truly being a skill for life.

IIJC is proudly affiliated with the Judo Federation of NSW, which is part of the Judo Federation of Australia and the International Judo Federation. This means our members have access to grading pathways and can compete at state, national, and international levels — including the Olympic Games.
