No! We welcome complete beginners. Our classes cater to all levels, and our coaches will guide you through everything from day one.
We typically start children once they are school age. Our Juniors class is for under 15s, and our Seniors class is for anyone aged 15 and over.
Absolutely! Your first class is completely free. Just come along to a session — no booking required.
For your first trial class, comfortable clothing like a tracksuit is fine. Once you join, you'll need a judogi (judo uniform) which is available for purchase through the club.
Safety is our top priority. One of the first things you learn in judo is how to fall safely (ukemi/breakfalls). All training is supervised by qualified coaches, and classes are structured to be age and skill appropriate.
Yes! We accept NSW Government Active Kids vouchers to help offset the cost of membership and fees.
Casual sessions are $12, or $120 per school term ($270 family rate). You'll also need annual insurance — either an $80 club membership or a Judo NSW registration ($159 junior / $201 senior). New members get a free 4-week trial membership with Judo NSW. Visit our Membership & Fees page for full details.
Of course! Our senior classes are open to anyone aged 15 and over, regardless of experience level. Many of our adult members started as complete beginners.
Competition is optional but encouraged. We regularly participate in local, state, and national competitions. Our coaches can help prepare you if you're interested in competing.
Judo develops fitness, coordination, discipline, confidence, and self-defence skills. It's also a fantastic way to meet people and be part of a supportive community.
